Anaheim was about to be rocked to its core as Chaos and Carnage brought its tour to the House of Blues for one of the last two shows of the tour. Talk about a stacked lineup from beginning to end with a total of 7 bands and 6 hours of non stop death core music at its finest. Distant from Rotterdam, Netherlands kicks off the show with “Hellmouth” off their newest album “Aeons of Oblivion”. As people were trickling in, Alan’s vocals can be felt throughout the entire venue with the guitars and drums pummeling you with non stop sound. People were wanting more but everyone knew of what was to come.

As the House Of Blues goes completely dark , Signs of the Swarm take the stage to an amped crowd that wants more heart pumping deathcore. Signs of the Swarm, Pittsburgh natives, take the stage to a set that was filled with songs mostly off of their newest album “ Absolvere “. There is nothing more satisfying than feeling that double bass pedal tremble throughout your entire body. Things were kicked up a notch as more people began to fill the pit and they let them know what Anaheim is made of. David delivered a solid vocal performance throughout the entirety of the set giving the next band some pretty big shoes to fill.

With that said Angelmaker is no slouch because not only do they have one vocalist but they have two. Casey and Mike are a force to be reckoned with. You would think one vocalist over powers the other but that is not the case since Casey and Mike bring something different to the table. While Mike is able to achieve those highs and lows, Casey delivers those mids without any issues. People are constantly shouting out “ Casey , Casey, Casey” you can feel the love the people have for the band. The three guitars and drums helped deliver a 45 minute set that included songs from their self titled and newest album “Sanctum”.  Finally ending their set with their most popular song “ Leech”. A hot and sweaty filled crowd exits the venue to catch some air while the next prepares to take the stage.

As the music begins, people rush into the venue  to catch Winds of Plague, veterans in the deathcore scene. A local band from southern Ca. Delivering the symphonic sound that they are known for. People are somewhat tired since it has been close to 5 hours since the doors opened but the people know that they need to prepare themselves for what is about to come for the next three bands.

The anticipation is building for Lorna Shore to take the stage. Will Ramos comes out with a bang and destroys the eardrums of everyone with his crushing vocals that are mind blowing good. Will Ramos has a technique unlike any other and belts out every one of the songs from “Immortal” to “ To the Hellfire”. As this point the pit is almost double from the last time that I checked with people going absolutely crazy and cheering for Lorna Shore. From the technical guitars and bass filled drums delivering a bombastic sound that combines elements of black metal and death metal.

The hellish sounds of the local band Carnifex are about to take over The House of Blues for the next hour. Coming out to a smoke filled, darkened room that is quickly filled with excitement and the heavy hitting guitars and Scotts vocals. Halfway into the set Scott addresses the death of Trevor from The Black Dahlia Murder and stating that if it weren’t for him Carnifex wouldn’t be where they are at today and dedicated their set to the long time friend. Playing a cover of Slipknots “ The Heretic Anthem “ which was a welcomed surprise by all. At the end of the hour long set, a tired crowd hits the outdoor patio and the bar to refuel for the main event.

People begin to enter the venue once again and fill the general admission area where people cannot wait to hear the beloved Suicide Silence. The Riverside locals begin the set with one of their biggest songs “ Unanswered”  from the 2008 album “ The Cleansing” . There is no mercy in the crowd because the pit grows exponentially and people are crowd surfing towards the stage nonstop with security grabbing bodies left and right. Playing a long 13 song set filled with songs from their entire discography and of course the hits are there. Hernan being welcomed by the fans and embracing the energy that the people are exerting. As you walk closer to the sea of people you are hit with a cloud of humidity and sweat. Ending the set with “ No Pity For a Coward “ and the crowd just goes absolutely wild and letting out what is left of their energy that has been spent in the past 7 hours. Chaos and Carnage came to Anaheim and delivered one hell of  a show.
