Well first off I am going to say the show start time was too early. Getting off at 5:30 and then trying to get down there to see the local band start at 6:15pm from out in the Valley, just doesn’t happen.

So sadly, I missed the set for TERRIFIER  . They played from 6:15 to 6:45. Missed the whole thing, and I was not happy. Have seen these guys play a few times before, and they have the energy, and the music to get a crowd going. Have always enjoyed their set. I sure hope that others enjoyed.

Next up is EXMORTUS. l , and their set time was from 7:00 to 7:30, and missed some of that because of the early times. But what I did see, was extremely well done. The guitar playing was what caught my attention. Phenomenal to say the least.  I would like to have heard just a little more vocals. But I will say they had my attention with their ability of pure metal. The floor was not crowded at all, so I figured like a lot of shows, they only come for the headliner, well that’s their loss, because I know a lot of them would have thoroughly enjoyed this band. Don’t miss them.

Next, well it’s truthfully who I came to see, KRISIUN . I have been lucky enough to see them numerous times, before the Barge To Hell cruise, twice on the boat, May of 2013, and then this tour. And each time I see a remarkable change, they have their sound locked into place, and they executed it from 7:45 to 8:45pm, and I can tell you, not long enough, before I knew it, wham, it was over, what a disappointing feeling. The floor filled a little more, but no where near where I thought it should be. There was some moshing happening, if only they knew how to do it the right way. Anyway, these 3 brothers trademark is really all about high speed death metal, and I don’t like high speed at all, EXCEPT when KRISIUN does it. For some reason, probably the talent they have at creating and executing, they make it so much more enjoyable, worth listening to. They are brutal and with a lot of diversity give their fans and the audience something that you won’t soon forget. I am sure that I haven’t even given them the credit they deserve, I am at a loss for words to explain how damned good they are. Not a band that should ever be missed.

Up next is well known German thrashers DESTRUCTION. They played for an hour an a half, to what looked like only about 200 people in the room. Horror, what happened to the crowd, it was a Friday night, and a metal show. Yet, this was not a good turnout, I hope it doesn’t affect them returning to Vancouver. Sometimes it’s a real hit and miss with shows here. Sad but true. But on the other hand, I could stay up front where I enjoy the band to its fullest. For me, it’s the only place to really experience the band. They put on an excellent show for the ones there. We got a good dose of thrash , German style. And let me tell you, that 1.5 hours wasn’t long enough to really get going. Moshers didn’t seem to be organized, sloppy and hitting whoever whenever. Not cool moshers. It was great to see the vocalist from Terrifier (Chase) out there enjoying the pit, supporting.  But if you can ignore them, and just focus on the talent behind these 3 men on stage. Then you will get your fill of some great thrash. They don’t mess around, they give it to you straight hard and fast. It had been awhile since I had seen them last, and I had forgot just how unique a voice Schmier had, I forgot how he could hit those high pitches and still sound very much thrash. There is no mistaking the talent here, or the energy they blast out. A good variety of their songs were played to the crowd.

Maybe the crowd was not there, but that gave me the chance to enjoy a great night of talent, without getting shoved around. Make sure to get out and support metal, there are still some dates left that you can catch….here they are, now go grab a ticket or two.
