Stryper are back to reclaim their throne in the hard rock/heavy metal world with the latest song from their upcoming 9th studio album, Fallen. The title track “Fallen” can be heard via YouTube at the following link: The original lineup comprised of Michael Sweet (vocals/guitars), Oz Fox (guitars), Tim Gaines (bass) and Robert Sweet (drums) return with an album of all new material showcasing the musicianship that garnered them a huge fan base in the mainstream world and the Christian market. From the opening choral refrains of  “Yahweh” to the signature vocal scream at the end of “King Of Kings,” it is apparent that Stryper is back with their heaviest and most inspired work to date that is scheduled for release on October 16th via Frontiers Music SRL. Fallen is available for pre-order via digital retailers and can be ordered via iTunes at and via AmazonMP3 at  It is also available in various physical configurations at Fallen was produced by Michael Sweet.

“Fallen is about Lucifer before he became Satan. It’s the story of how he got kicked out of Heaven. He tried to overthrow God and take over,” describes Michael Sweet. “The song talks about how beautiful he was. When he walked, there was music. He was the angel of worship and this incredibly powerful and beautiful being.”
The latest song comes on the heels of the album teaser track, “Yahweh,” that was released last month and has been listened to over 135K times since it went live. “Yahweh” was a musical writing collaboration between Michael Sweet and Sevendust’s Clint Lowery. Tracks like “Pride,” “Big Screen Lies” and “Til I Get What I Need” show that Stryper is back and better than ever. Stryper offer their unique interpretation of the Black Sabbath classic “After Forever.” The band flexes their softer side on the instantly memorable “All Over Again” which continues the journey Stryper fans began almost 30 years ago when “Honestly” was released to mainstream success.

L.A. rap-rockers Hollywood Undead are embarking on a headlining tour in support of their latest album, Day of the Dead. They’ll hit the road with Crown the Empire and I Prevail beginning Sept. 8 in Dallas. The dates are below. For pre-sale ticket information, go here.

In a recent interview with Artist Direct, vocalist J-Dog talked about the album: “I feel like we took a step forward and a step backward at the same time. We got back to our roots more, but we still tried to progress musically as a band. That’s extremely hard to do. Every record, you have to not only redefine yourself, but also find yourself as an artist.”
J-Dog continues, “The pressure of an album failing is so high that it’s pretty intense writing a record. It can affect how you write and what you write. With this one, I feel like we did a really great job. If I could go back in time and start this album over, I wouldn’t change anything.”

Crown the Empire’s latest album, 2014′s Resistance: Rise of the Runaways, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. I Prevail are touring in support of their debut EP Heart Vs. Mind. Watch/share the lyric video for new track "Immortalized":
The Grammy Award-nominated foursome returned from its four year hiatus last month with the release of single "The Vengeful One," currently at Top 3 at Active Rock Radio. Early praise comes from Artist Direct, who dubs the single "easily the biggest and best metal anthem this year... it kicks off the next chapter of Disturbed with an apropos bang. Vengeance is theirs," and Loudwire, who proclaims: "Expect 'The Vengeful One' to take its place alongside the band's biggest hits." In conjunction with the release of Immortalized, Disturbed will play their first show in four years at the House of Blues in their hometown of Chicago on August 21. Tickets are on sale now.
Watch/share the official video for "The Vengeful One":
In January 2014, David Draiman, Dan Donegan, and Mike Wengren met for a dinner in their hometown of Chicago. Shortly thereafter, without notifying friends, families, or their label, the three began to fly back and forth to each other's respective home studios for writing sessions, marking the beginnings of Immortalizedand the first time they collectively wrote together since 2001.
"For this album, everything was written in the same room," Draiman remarks. "It was wonderful experiencing how it used to be back in the day for us. That became apparent in the material, whether it was the passion of the performance, the power being harnessed, or the feelings evoked. We could feel the difference."
To push themselves further, the group headed to Las Vegas' Hideout Recordings to work alongside producer Kevin Churko [Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch]. It marked their first collaboration together, and Churko pushed the musicians to expand their signature style.
"I think the fans will feel like it was worth the wait," concludes Donegan. "To be away from it for almost 5 years, get back in a room, write together, and tap into that fire is awesome. Part of me didn't want to leave the studio! We still have a lot more to say. We still have a lot more to do. We're returning stronger than ever. I think Immortalized shows that."
Formed in Chicago in 1996, multi-platinum hard rock titans Disturbed - David Draiman [vocals], Dan Donegan [guitar], Mike Wengren [drums], and John Moyer [bass] - have sold 12 million albums globally, scored nine No. 1 singles at Active Rock Radio, and had four consecutive albums debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, a feat shared only with Metallica and Dave Matthews Band. Their quadruple-platinum 2000 debut The Sickness formally announced their arrival as hard rock leaders, with that status solidified by their subsequent Grammy Award nomination as well as gold-, platinum- and double platinum-certified records.

On June 27, 2012, the long-running, hard-touring, and world-renowned metal band lamb of god landed in Prague for their first concert there in two years. Vocalist D. Randall "Randy" Blythe was looking forward to a few hours off—a rare break from the touring grind—in which to explore the elegant, old city. However, a surreal scenario worthy of Kafka began to play out at the airport as Blythe was detained, arrested for manslaughter, and taken to Pankrác Prison—a notorious 123-year-old institution where the Nazis' torture units had set up camp during the German occupation of then-Czechoslovakia, and where today hundreds of prisoners are housed, awaiting trial and serving sentences in claustrophobic, sweltering, nightmare-inducing conditions.

Two years prior, a 19-year-old fan died of injuries suffered at a lamb of god show in Prague, allegedly after being pushed off stage by Blythe, who had no vivid recollection of the incident. Stage-crashing and -diving being not uncommon occurrences, as any veteran of hard rock, metal, and punk shows knows, the concert that could have left him imprisoned for years was but a vague blur in Blythe's memory, just one of the hundreds of shows his band had performed over their decades-long career.

At the time of his arrest Blythe had been sober for nearly two years, having finally gained the upper hand over the alcoholism that nearly killed him. But here he faced a new kind of challenge: jailed in a foreign land and facing a prison sentence of up to ten years. Worst of all, a young man was dead, and Blythe was devastated for him and his family, even as the reality of his own situation began to close in behind Pankrác Prison's glowering walls of crumbling concrete and razor wire.

What transpired during Blythe's incarceration, trial, and eventual acquittal is a rock 'n' roll road story unlike any other, one that runs the gamut from tragedy to despair to hope and finally to redemption. While never losing sight of the sad gravity of his situation, Blythe relates the tale of his ordeal with one eye fixed firmly on the absurd (and at times bizarrely hilarious) circumstances he encountered along the way. Blythe is a natural storyteller and his voice drips with cutting humor, endearing empathy, and soulful insight. Much more than a tour diary or a prison memoir, Dark Days is D. Randall Blythe's own story about what went down—before, during, and after—told only as he can.

ANTHRAX, six-time Grammy-nominated, Platinum-selling thrash masters, and a lifetime member of The Big Four, will provide a head banging send-off for the iconic Sunset Strip House of Blues on Wednesday, July 29.  The band will headline what will be the last metal show ever to play the HOB before it shuts down on August 7 to make way for a new hotel/housing/retail complex.  Tickets go on sale today at 12NOON PT through Ticketmaster, the Live Nation app, and at the HOB Box Office.  Log on to for more details.

"Every show we've done at the Sunset House of Blues has been a party," said Anthrax's Frank Bello.  "Everyone who we're friends with who's not on tour shows up, either to jam or drink or just hang out.  And I'll really miss that.  Sunset Boulevard has lost its last great place to play."

Charlie Benante added, "The memories that have been created will always live on for anyone who went to the HOB.  I feel honored and privileged to have this last chance to blow the roof off of the HOB.  The Strip will soon end up looking like a corporate strip mall, no memories there."

While the band is still putting together ideas for the show, there will likely be some cool surprises.  "You never know what we'll come up with," laughed Bello.

Anthrax - Joey Belladonna, Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Charlie Benante, and Jon Donais - is currently in the final stages of recording a new album that is expected out in early 2016. The band will play a series of major U.S. festivals this summer and is confirmed to join Motorhead for several dates on Lemmy and the boys' 40th anniversary tour, including Motorhead's Motorboat 2015.  In the fall, Anthrax will then play Loud Park 15 in Japan, and join Slayer for a six-week European tour.

Grammy Award-winning bass guitarist, vocalist, and founding member of YES, Chris Squire, has died after a battle with Acute Erythroid Leukemia (AEL), an uncommon form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He was 67 years old. Chris had been receiving treatment in his hometown of Phoenix since he was diagnosed with the disease in May.

Squire's YES bandmate Geoff Downes wrote on Twitter: "Utterly devastated beyond words to have to report the sad news of the passing of my dear friend, bandmate and inspiration Chris Squire." YES has also released a statement on Squire's passing. It reads: "It's with the heaviest of hearts and unbearable sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our dear friend and YES co-founder, Chris Squire. Chris peacefully passed away last night in Phoenix Arizona, in the arms of his loving wife Scotty.
"For the entirety of YES' existence, Chris was the band's linchpin and, in so many ways, the glue that held it together over all these years. Because of his phenomenal bass-playing prowess, Chris influenced countless bassists around the world, including many of today's well-known artists. Chris was also a fantastic songwriter, having written and co-written much of YES' most endearing music, as well as his solo album, 'Fish Out Of Water'. Outside of YES, Chris was a loving husband to Scotty and father to Carmen, Chandrika, Camille, Cameron, and Xilan.

"With his gentle, easy-going nature, Chris was a great friend of many … including each of us. But he wasn't merely our friend: he was also part of our family and we shall forever love and miss him."

Squire formed YES in 1968 with singer Jon Anderson and has been the band's sole remaining co-founder, having played on all of the group's albums, including 1971's "Fragile", 1972's "Close To The Edge", 1977's "Going For The One" and 1983's "90125", which featured the No. 1 hit single "Owner Of A Lonely Heart".
Squire was recently replaced in YES's touring lineup by Billy Sherwood, who played guitar and keyboards as a touring member of YES in 1994 and as a full member from 1997 to 2000.
