Undoubtedly, one of the most intriguing tours of recent times for fans of classic rock and hard rock was when legendary guitarist Michael Schenker reunited with his former Scorpions bandmates, bassist Francis Buchholz and drummer Herman Rarebell, for a worldwide jaunt. And on May 6th, one of the standout performances of the entire tour will serve as the basis of a new CD and DVD release, 'On a Mission: Live in Madrid.'
Recorded and filmed at the Joy Eslava in Madrid on November 19, 2015 (and also featuring singer Doogie White and guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay), all phases of Schenker's long and winding career are touched upon, including UFO ("Lights Out"), the Scorpions ("Coast to Coast"), MSG ("Victim of Illusion"), and Temple of Rock ("Live and Let Die"), including several special surprises, such as a reading of the Scorpions' biggest hit, "Rock You Like a Hurricane.”
A trailer of the DVD can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJkMqUCuS14
And in addition to being available for purchase via the following formats - double-CD, Blu-ray, and DVD, there will be a limited edition "collector's box" (limited to only 5000 copies worldwide), which will include the double CD and 2 Blu-rays, including extensive bonus material: rehearsal; the tour starts; outside the theater; soundcheck; Michael and his guitars. Also included will be a booklet including unique and exclusive biographies, written by the musicians themselves.
Pre-orders are now being taken at the MVD Shop (http://bit.ly/237SsOT) and on Amazon (http://amzn.to/1Swz0jH) for the CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and Limited Deluxe Edition (2 CD + 2 Blu-ray) versions.

Individual Interviews With Band Members

APRIL 25th 2016

UK-based metallers, VENOM INC., will kick off the second leg of their North American tour next month. The latest march will run from May 31st in Brooklyn, New York through July 2nd in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Support will again be provided by long-running American death metal behemoths Necrophagia. The trek follows the band's recent and successful stomp through North America this past January.
VENOM INC. features original Venom members guitarist Jeff "Mantas" Dunn and drummer Anthony "Abaddon" Bray with former Venom bassist/vocalist Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan. The band made their live debut as VENOM INC. in April 2015 at the Keep It True Festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany, performing a full set of Venom classics and played to over 30,000 people at Heavy Montreal last August. Dolan and Dunn have spent the last few years collaborating in M:Pire Of Evil, who released their latest full-length, Crucified, in May 2013. VENOM INC. took to the streets early last Fall on the lengthy Iron And Steel European Tour before closing the year with a Latin American live infiltration. The band returned to the streets of North America last January to the frenzied praise and fans and critics alike.
In a review of their New York City performance, Cryptic Rock hailed, "A solid offering of killer Venom classics," further noting, "many fans did not want the evening to come to an end. Sometimes bands splitting up into two separate names can be confusing to their followers. Nonetheless, VENOM INC. are doing a great job of making it clear who they are as they educated fans who are loving every minute of what they are coming to learn." Agreed Now Toronto, "Kicking off with 'Prime Evil,' the title track from the first of three late '80s/early '90s albums on which Demolition Man sang after Cronos temporarily left the band, the English metalheads quickly got fists raised and a pit on the verge of erupting. While speedy classics... like 'Die Hard,' 'Don't Burn The Witch.' and, for the final song of the encore, 'Black Metal' ensured no one left disappointed, it was the sludgier '1000 Days In Sodom' and 'At War With Satan' that packed the unholiest sonic punches." Brave Words championed a, "great night of old school classics," and a performance that was nothing short of, "highly entertaining." While Lithium Magazine gushed, "Yes, Chronos has the long-standing good fortune of being the original Venom vocalist, and zealots will say if he's not in the band it's not Venom. I disagree. Hearing 'Prime Evil,' 'Live Like An Angel (Die Like A Devil),' and 'Buried Alive' this evening managed to raise the hairs on the back of neck quite easily. The tightly packed crowd writhed in appropriate fashion for every one of these classic Venom songs, while Mantas, Anthony and Tony howled and snarled their way through like the consummate players they are... For $25 you couldn't really go wrong with this show." Added Metal Wani, "In all honesty, a tour like this doesn't hit the states too often. Not only do you get to see the pioneers of everything speed/black metal, but supporting them are pioneers of death metal... a truly legendary lineup that can't be missed! If this tour is coming to or near your city, get out and witness the best of the best tear it up."

Rob Zombie's new album, "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser", will be released on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records. The CD was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and features Zombie alongside guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish.

The official Danielle Lovett-produced video for the album's first single, "Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O.", can be seen below.

Says Rob Zombie: "This album is the best thing we've done to date, and we can't wait to share it with you. No, we mean it. It's the most fucked up thing we've ever done.

"We spent so much time putting this monster together and it's been worth it because this thing is about to explode!

"The album is out on April 29th, but there is a lot of shit going on in the lead-up to the release, so check out the pre-sale, get involved in the discussions and check back here for updates regularly! This bitch is moving forward FAST, and it's a train you don't want to fucking miss.

"Oh, and if you don't believe how fucked up this album is, take a look at the track listing below. Shit gets weird."

"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" track listing:

01. The Last Of The Demons Defeated
02. Satanic Cyanide! The Killer Rocks On!
03. The Life And Times Of A Teenage Rock God
04. Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O.
05. A Hearse Overturns With The Coffin Bursting Open
06. The Hideous Exhibitions Of A Dedicated Gore Whore
07. Medication For The Melancholy
08. In The Age Of The Consecrated Vampire We All Get High

Rob Zombie spoke to Louder Noise about why he has held back the release of his new album even though the record was completed months ago. Zombie said: "It'll probably come out in [the spring], because what I wanna do is I wanna do a very large visual component to go with the record — shoot thirteen videos, or shoot a movie go with it. And because of [Zombie's upcoming sixth live-action feature film, a horror thriller called] '31', I couldn't get to that yet. So I'm gonna do that probably in January, so we'll put it out soon after that."

He continued: "I love it. I mean, I really like the record. The last record was my favorite record in a long time. 'Cause I had kind of hit a low with making records. It just kind of got boring; I hated being in the studio, and I kind of got reinspired on the last record. And this sort of follows up on it. So I think that, much like '31'… You just have those things in your career where you're, like, they all can't be the best one. With records, sometimes you have those moments where you can tell, 'This one's special.' And that's how it feels."

Zombie told Loudwire that the follow-up to 2013's "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor" was recorded over the course of a year, with the band working for a few weeks, taking a break for a few months, then coming back. He said, "We were living with it for a long time, and it really — I think it made the record so much better."

Although Rob spends a lot of time making movies, he told The Pulse Of Radio a while back he's not ready to quit music yet. He said: "People go, 'How long can you do this, how long do you want to do this?' I want to do it as long as it's fun, because that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, I don't need the money, so I don't have to drag my ass out on tour just to make money. I'm all good there, so if it's not fun, it's nothing, it's just stupid, you know. And when you're not having fun, you're not gonna do good work. You're gonna seem like a miserable guy who's just doing it for the money, and I just never wanted to do that."

MARCH 27th 2016
Norwegian progressive extreme metallers ENSLAVED will continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the band with a European tour in the fall. The more progressive-minded set "Spinning Wheel Ritual" will be the focus of the trek, which is scheduled to kick off at the end of September.

According to a press release "'Spinning Wheel Ritual' is looking firmly to the future and the most recent chapter in ENSLAVED's story. Their progressive nature will take centre stage, as more recent albums like 'Vertebrae', 'RIITIIR' and 'In Times' are placed together for the first time. The focus here will be a reimagining of sorts — the emphasis on the band being viewed in a new light, touching potential new audiences as well as those who have followed the band since the early days."

To help set the tone, ENSLAVED will be bringing one of the most exciting progressive metal artists out as special guest on this run: Australia's NE OBLIVISCARIS. This band should need no introduction having gained widespread attention with 2014's "Citadel" album and a festival run in 2015 that saw tents packed at Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, Resurrection and more.

Saban Films has acquired North American distribution rights to Rob Zombie's latest horror-thriller, "31". Written and directed by Zombie, the film premiered at Sundance earlier this year and will be released on September 16.

"31" stars Sheri Moon Zombie ("The Devil’s Rejects"), Golden Globe nominee Malcolm McDowell ("A Clockwork Orange") and "The Lords Of Salem" actors Jeff Daniel Phillips and Meg Foster. The film follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns.

"'31' is a treat not just to horror fans, but fans of true auteur filmmaking," Saban Films president Bill Bromiley said. "The film is executed in true stylistic Zombie fashion. Rob is an unrivaled talent, and we are thrilled to bring his bold new film to audiences across the continent."

"After meeting with Saban, it was obvious that this was the perfect home for '31'," Rob Zombie said. "They have a true understanding of the genre and how to handle it. I am very excited to work with them."

Bow and Arrow Entertainment financed the film and co-produced with Spectacle Entertainment Group.

Zombie previously told a fan on his Facebook page that an unrated cut of "31" will be issued on DVD. Zombie presented the film three times to the MPAA ratings board, which slapped it with an NC-17 twice and finally gave it an R after he made some trims to the film's violent content.

Zombie himself had stated that he thought it was likely that that edits would need to be made to try and fit the MPAA's strict guidelines.

The extreme-metal visionary Ihsahn likes to play with expectations — in fact, he delights in upending them. In a career spanning three decades, Ihsahn has subverted expectations in every project that bears his name, Emperor and Hardingrock among them. It's a desire to make something grand, make something new.

His sixth album, Arktis, is particularly perverse: It's got an industrial raver, a ballad and this song, "Crooked Red Line," a smoove-jazz number aided by Shining frontman Jørgen Munkeby on saxophone. It's slicked back like Ihshan's hair, until it turns doomy and majestic about halfway through.

Lizzy Borden has spent over three decades creating some of the most theatrical metal in existence, releasing classics such as Love You to Pieces (1985) and Master of Disguise (1989), while obliterating audiences worldwide with a stage show that rivals that of Marilyn Manson and Alice Cooper. For his efforts, he has become nothing short of a metal icon. Now, to take the next step in furthering his career, Lizzy Borden has signed a worldwide solo artist deal with Metal Blade Records - the label that helped to launch him to commercial success over 30 years ago. Ready to once again captivate both veteran and adolescent metal fans alike, Lizzy Borden plans to release a new album in 2016 and tour the world in support of it, with a reinvigorated band backing him up.
Lizzy Borden comments: "I am extremely happy to re-sign with the same label we started with all those years ago (Metal Blade Records). I'm excited to be working with Brian Slagel and all the Metal Blade family again. It's been my home for all six of our (full-length) studio albums - with the new record being the seventh, and the start of a new series of albums to come.

My focus for the last several years has been performing live and exposing my brand of American metal to countries all over the world. Now I feel is the right time to step back and push the re-start button. Time to get back to the art of creating new music. Touring around the world and having new fans discover Lizzy Borden for the first time has been rejuvenating, and so a new album seems like the perfect way to bridge the past with the future.

I will take this part of my journey and these next series of albums as a solo artist, as I have for some of the past LB records and tours. I look forward to working with many different established musicians and friends, as well as some undiscovered talent like we have been lucky enough to unearth in the past. To all of our fans that have followed Lizzy Borden from the beginning and all the new younger fans who have just discovered us, I hope you will come along with me for this next chapter. I am inspired, excited and ready to begin again. @realLizzyborden"

Record producer Sir George Martin, known as the "fifth Beatle", has died, aged 90.

His family thanked "everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support" after his death at home on Tuesday, his manager said.
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr broke the news on Twitter and led tributes, saying Sir George "will be missed".
Sir George signed The Beatles and produced more than 700 records.

He also worked with artists including Gerry and the Pacemakers, Dame Shirley Bassey and Cilla Black.
"I have so many wonderful memories of this great man that will be with me forever," said Sir Paul McCartney in a statement on his website.
"He was a true gentleman and like a second father to me. He guided the career of The Beatles with such skill and good humour that he became a true friend to me and my family. If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle it was George.
"From the day that he gave The Beatles our first recording contract, to the last time I saw him, he was the most generous, intelligent and musical person I've ever had the pleasure to know."

MARCH 17th 2016
Swedish progressive metallers OPETH will play a one-off U.K. show at London's SSE Wembley Arena this winter. The band is currently hard at work on its new album, the follow-up to 2014's "Pale Communion", which is penciled for release later this year.

Last year, OPETH celebrated its 25th anniversary with a string of special "An Evening With..." shows that saw the band grace the stage of historic and celebrated venues such as London's Theatre Royal, Los Angeles' Orpheum and New York's Beacon Theater.

The band will play the SSE Wembley Arena in London on Saturday, November 19. General admission tickets and limited VIP packages will go on general sale at 9 a.m. this Friday, March 18 at this location.

Comments OPETH frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt: "We have played Wembley Arena once before supporting DREAM THEATER but to be back on our own, so to speak, is a daunting-yet-exciting task.

"London has always been kind to us ever since our very early overseas shows, and I have no doubt that this will be yet another overwhelming experience.

"This will be the biggest show we have ever done on our own and we will approach it with our 25 years as a band in our luggage. It will be memorable and fantastic, I have no doubt. I hope you'll be there to celebrate with us. A bunch of bums from Stockholm.

"Can't believe we're doing this. I'm nervous. Excited. Fucking hell! OPETH at Wembley Arena. Who would have thought?!"

As previously reported, OPETH has announced a headlining concert on October 1 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

OPETH's 25th-anniversary commemorative book, "Book Of Opeth", will arrive on April 15 via U.K.'s Rocket 88 publishers. The book contains never-before-seen photos of the band's early days with full commentary from guitarist/vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt, OPETH's original guitar player Peter Lindgren as well as former and current bandmembers. The book spans the gamut of the band's colorful, rich twenty-five-year career, paying close attention to detail from page one.

Every copy of the first 4,000 books come with a vinyl pressing with acoustic versions of "Atonement" and "Demon Of The Fall", which will only be available in the "Book Of Opeth". The strictly limited edition, all numbered and signed by Mikael also includes three fine art prints by OPETH sleeve designer Travis Smith.
