SWEDEN ROCK FEATURE

Feature By: Aishath Boskma

From its humble beginnings in 1992, Sweden Rock has grown from a 9 band affair into a four day international phenomenon with a roster of over 50 acts set to take the stage in 2018. Previous years have welcomed Aerosmith, Dio, Deep Purple, Poison, Scorpions, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Guns N' Roses, and countless others. Taking place in Sölvesborg, what many consider to be one of THEE festivals of the year, already boasts a lineup that includes the likes of Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Helloween, Judas Priest, Stone Sour, In This Moment and dozens of others. Would-be attendees are advised to act fast, as passes are understandably selling out quick, half a year in advance of the event.

Select highlights: Iron Maiden have a career spanning 40+ years, the majority of which they have spent at the top of the metal genre. Epic songs, masterful writing, and a live energy that shows no signs of abating are just a few of the reasons why this band is not to be missed!

Ozzy Osbourne reigns this summer as he dominates the festival circuit with his trademark maniacal grin. A man who needs no introduction (indeed, not for the last few decades), any performance by the former Black Sabbath frontman promises to be a wicked delight.
